Participants will gain knowledge on each type of child abuse (physical, sexual, emotional and neglect), and will strenghen their skill in recognizing signs and symptoms for each of them. Attendees will also learn how to receive a disclosure, and the ways that a child might discuss abuse. They will also learn when and how to report child abuse, and what they should do after a report is made to support their students. This presentation will also go over preventative safety measures and strategies for intervening in potentially unsafe situations, and how to discuss these things with other adults to collaborate and prevent child abuse.
