Keep Calm and Dance! Creating and Increasing Physical Activity with Dance
You don't have to be a dancer to provide high engaging dance opportunities in your after school program. OST providers across the country are already supporting the healthy development of young people, and the dance arts can be a great way to increase physical activity while youth express themselves through movement. Participants will move and groove in learning the benefits of creating a dance program. Backed up by the recent Healthy Eating & Physical Activity (HEPA) and Arts standards in after school research, participants will see the impact a dance program can make for youth and dance away knowing how to teach a routine, provide stage performance tips, how to engage youth in their community with dance, and promote a healthy lifestyle with the performing arts.
